"Season begins with a Win!" |
The Lady Chargers kick off the basketball season with a win against Westlake Christian 33-19. The ladies were led by Brittany Negron with a strong performance around the basket. Brittany scored 11 pts and had 10 rebounds.
Sara Elleson and Holly Swiderek both 8 pts. each had good showings as well.
Senior Amy Farmer added to the dominance on the boards with an additional 9 boards. Annie Salsgiver did a great job quarterbacking the girls and set a good tone in getting the offense going.
It was a good win to start the season, said coach Rowland, we'll take it but the girls know that they have a ways to go to get ready for a tough conference schedule.

The Charger volleyball girls made history Saturday Oct.31, with it's victory in the Winnetka region volleyball tournament.
It marks Christian Liberty's first ever region title in school history. The girls played with the most focus and determination I've seen this entire season, said coach Salsgiver. I've been telling them all year they were capable of this kind of play, now I think they believe it.
The girls head to Selena, IL. Tues. Nov.3, for Sectional play. With a win there they will return on Nov.5, for the Sectional championship.

Freshman David Colbert was a unanimous 1st team all conference selection at the NAC fall season meetings. Being selected to the 1st team is a great honor but to be selected as a freshman in such a competetive conference is even more special, said coach Bennett.
Also getting honorable mention was sophmore, Keifer Bennett.
We are very young and that bodes well for the future of our program, I'm looking forward to the next few years, said coach.

1st Team All Conference
Taylor White is selected to the NAC 1st team All Conference in volleyball. She was one of 14 players selected to this prestigious team of athletes.
Along with Taylor was senior Amy Farmer who was given Honorable Mention for her outstanding play this year.
Good luck to the Chargers as they move into Regional play on Wed.28th at Northshore Country Day.

"Lauren Salomonson recognized as All-American!" |
CLA Varsity Cheerleader, Lauren Salomonson was recognized as an All-American Cheerleader. This is a once in a lifetime achievement given to cheerleaders who have all the qualities of an all around great cheerleader. Being an All-American is one of the highest awards and individual can achieve in cheerleading. Each summer at UCA cheer camps, thousands of cheerleaders try out for the All-American title, but only 10 percent are chosen. As one of the small ten percent, Lauren has achieved a great honor. Lauren received a medallion, patch, and certificate as well as a chance to march in a Macy's holiday parade. Congratulations Lauren, we are honored to have you on our team!
