"Former Sequoit Dies in Iraq"
Richard "Joe" Jordan passed away while on deployment with the Army in Iraq.  Joe was a 1998 graduate of Antioch Community High School.  He also was a member of the football team.

"Former Sequoit Gets Off to a Hot Start"
Andy Danna, a freshman infielder this year at the University of Dubuque, is Conference Player of the Week.  Andy hit 484 (15 for 31) with five doubles and 11 RBI for the Spartans went 5-2 last week.  He also posted a .852 slugging percentage and a .514 on-base percentage.

"Allie Anttila and Lauren Grant Selected to Play in Senior Shootout"
Allie Anttila and Lauren Grant have been selected to participate in the first annual Lake County Senior Shootout.  The game will take place on Friday, April 9, on the CLC (College of Lake County) campus in Grayslake, Illinois.  They were selected along with the other top basketball players in Lake County.

"Sequoit Weekly Premieres"
Sequoit Weekly is a new feature on our Web site that showcases current events occurring in the Antioch athletic department.  Our first update features four ACHS graduates who have moved on to Division I, II, and III and NAIA athletic programs.  They discuss what they needed to do to become eligible to participate at their school, the various things they did in high school to allow them to move up to the college level as an athlete and how their transition to college life is going.

"Deli Source Athletic Excellence Scholarship"
Deli Source will again honor one ACHS male and female senior student/athlete with a $1,000 Athletic Excellence Scholarship.  Criteria for the award along with an application can be found by clicking on the link at the left. 

The application needs to be turned in to the Athletic Office by Friday, April 14.  Semi-finalists will be recognized at the May Honors Assembly.
