Blazer Advances to Sectional

Sophomore Jimmy Jaskoske played a gutsy round in gusty winds on Monday to advance to the St. Charles East Sectional. Jimmy shot a 4 over 75 to advance by 5 shots. He started off with a great approach from 165 yards that hit the hole and left him with an easy tap in birdie, but from there he struggled a bit and was forced to fight his swing. As conditions worsened throughout the day Jimmy continued grinding it out and played well enough to advance. Senior Greg Sobieszek shot a career best 83 and missed advancing by one place. "If we were in any other regional in the state he would have advanced" said coach Hubner. Greg did a nice job and deserved a better fate but in the toughest regional in the state on a difficult golf course he came through and ended his career in style. Play continues on Monday at St. Andrews Golf Club in West Chicago as Jimmy will continue at the St Charles East Sectional.
