Twin City Champions!
Centennial traveled across town to play their most heated rivals, the Champaign Central Maroons, on a very muddy field. During the opening drive, the Charger defense pushed the Maroons back, and on 4th and long, the Chargers blocked the punt, and OLB Zack Powers fell on the ball in the end zone for a touchdown (extra point missed)! Three plays later, the Charger defense forced a fumble, and OLB Brian Potter recovered the ball on the 2 yard line. RB Jonah Peoples rushed over the right side for a touchdown on the very next play (2 point conversion Peacock throw to Evans).
In the muddy field, neither offense was able to build up much yardage. However, the Maroons scored a touchdown in the early fourth quarter (extra point missed). The Chargers ran some of the time of off the clock, but had to punt. The Chargers defense was able to hold tough as the clock wound down, and the Chargers finished off the game in the victory formation!
