Varsity Soccer Defeats Vikings

Playing in a driving rainstorm, the Deerfield Warriors scored two first half goals to defeat the Niles North Vikings in a game that was called at halftime due to lightning. Joey Calistri got the Warriors on the board in the 26th minute when David Panter and Connor Holloway combined on a give and go and centered the ball for Calistri to tuck away in front of the net. Seven minutes later, Zack Pearlstein increased the lead when Holloway's free kick was too hot for the keeper to handle. Pearlstein drove the rebound off the underside of the crossbar and in to make it 2-0. Matt Glassman made one save to earn the shutout for Deerfield (12-3-1, 3-1 CSL North
