Thursday was a night to celebrate the contributions that 17 seniors have made to the soccer program. The team responded with a 5-0 victory over the Northridge Prep Knights to improve to 15-3-1 on the season. Ollie Speirs scored the opening goal when he volleyed home a cross from Ian Hardison-Sanchez in the 6^th minute. Four minutes later, Hardison-Sanchez scored a goal of his own when he took a pass from Connor Holloway and curled a left footed shot into the upper corner for a 2-0 lead. Shane Wehrheim made it 3-0 in the 15^th minute when he powered in a header off a Joey Calistri cross. Dean Karras notched his first varsity goal in the 37^th minute. Brandon Mayer started the play with a strong attacking run up the middle that culminated in a chip to A.J. Pew. Pew’s header beat the keeper but not the crossbar, but Karras tapped in the rebound to make it 4-0 at halftime. Connor Holloway closed out the scoring midway through the second half when he took a pass from Calistri, dribbled around the keeper, and slid the ball inside the near post.
