DFDC JV and F/S End Season The Right Way

DFDC JV and F/S End Season The Right Way

On Tuesday Oct 20th the JV and F/S DFDC traveled to Prospect H.S. to take compete in the Knights Invitational. This is a great meet as there is a lot of hardware offered and it is also a chance for the DFDC runners to see how they comeback after the Big CSL meet and get another valuable data point in their end of the season racing and training.

There was quite a lot to celebrate at the Knights Invite despite being tired from races on Saturday, DHS runners came away with some terrific honors. Award winners included: Jordan Abosch, Alex Gold, Jack DiMatteo, Patrick Brunk, Danny Rich and Bryan Rosenberg for freshmen, as well as Matt Treshansky, Scott Pierce, Greg Klein, Jack Umlauf and Michael Schraiber from the sophomore squad. Freshman Max Rich ran a fantastic race, and just missed that recognition list. A trip to Steak 'N Shake ensured that the team celebrated their season of successes and replaced their carbohydrate stores.

On the team side the Frosh/Soph finished 2nd to a powerful Prospect team; however, many of the DFDC mentioned that they need to get to that level as Prospect is a traditional State Power and that where these runners want to go.

The JV team simply ran their guts out and modeled for the younger runners how to give it all even though there were no individual award winners. David Khalameyzer in particular had a tough guts race as well as David Palmer and David Christians.

This was an exciting end of the season for the JV and F/S DFDC as they continued to embody the toughness, spirit, and pride of being a DHS CC Runner. The future looks bright!

GO DFDC!
