GIRLS’ TENNIS 2009

STATE UPDATE: What a way to end our DHS Girls’Tennis season! The team took 2^nd place in the IHSA State tournament last week-end (NOTE: There are close to 300 teams that play girls’ tennis in the state of Illinois!). Hinsdale Central won with 32 points, DHS was second with 28, and Lake Forest was third with 25.

CONGRATULATIONS to:

Julia Fellerhoff (6-1 record in tournament) – finalist – 2^nd place overall (out of 128 players)

Alexis Casati (3-1 record) – finished top 16 in State

Lizzie Brooks/Meghan Frankel (3-1 record) – finished top 16 in State

Ellie Crist/Lexie Levitz (2-1 record) – finished top 32 in State

THANK YOU to all of you (players, parents, grandparents, brothers/sisters, and friends) who came out to support the team throughout the tournament. To see so many of you out at Center Court in Hanover Park on Saturday to support Julia for her 3 matches as she made an amazing run to the finals was truly heart-warming and greatly appreciated.

And, again, thanks to my wonderful assistant coaches (Jeff and Lorrie Daube, Jig Vora, Josh Leighton) for all their help, not only during State, but the entire season.
