Girls Cross Country Advances to Sectionals!
The girls cross country team qualified out of the IHSA Regional at DuPage River Park in Naperville with a fifth place finish! In what was considered the toughest regional in the St. Charles Sectional, the girls bested Wheaton North for the final team spot by a score of 124 to 134. On an extremely wet and muddy course sophomore Maddie Nagle led the way for the Hilltoppers with an impressive 7th place finish. Sophomore Katie Born was able to finish four places ahead of Wheaton North's first runner with her 18th place finish, second on the team. In some of their best races of the year, Senior Carly Walker was the 3rd runner for Glenbard West in 27th place, junior Lauren Sedall was 35th, and senior Cassie Anderson placed 37th to round out the team's scoring. Senior Eliza Hinton and junior Lydia Smith finished 41st and 48th, respectively to complete the team finish. The girls now move on to the St. Charles East Sectional at Leroy Oakes Forest Preserve on October 31st where they will attempt to qualify for the IHSA state meet the following week.
