Wheeling Invite
The Cross Country team competed on Saturday at the Wheeling Invite. They faced some tough competition in seeing many schools that will be at their Sectional in a few weeks. The team still had an impressive performance with 17 Seasonal Best and 12 Personal Best 3 Mile times. The Boys Varsity placed 15th out of 20 teams with 427 points. Ryan Mamerow (20th Place, SB 16:00), Travis Jorgensen (91st, PB 17:23), Trent Peters-Clarke (105th, PB 17:49), Justin Sanchez (107th, PB 17:55), Josh Burch (SB 18:38), and Parker Simpson (PB 18:56) all ran outstanding races. The Girls Varsity placed 15th out of 18 teams with 407 points. Audrey Carrothers (40th, PB 19:37), Kacie Wodek (69th, PB 20:19), Kassie Stimpson (105th, PB 21:29), Haylee Walsh (PB 21:46), Trisha Palmieri (SB 21:48), Kyra Schmidt (PB 21:55) and Taylor Mannes (PB 22:04) led the way for the girls. The Girls Frosh/Soph team was led by Morgan Jahnke (30th Place) and the Boys Frosh/Soph team was led by Ben Soumar. Neither team had enough runners to qualify for a team score and races were only 2.5 Miles. In the Open races, Jaclyn Smyth (SB 23:30), Chris Oliver (SB 19:45), Andres Diaz (PB 21:13) and Zak Wodek (PB 22:29) all ran great races and continue to improve.
