Richmond Burton Freshman Tournament
The Freshman Volleyball team was very busy on Saturday as both the A and B Teams participated in the Richmond Burton Freshman Tournament. The B Team was a late addition to this Freshman A tournament and they more than held their own. They started the day by beating Richmond and then split with Wauconda, Streamwood, and CLA. This gave them a 5-3 mark which was good enough for 2nd place in their pool and meant they earned the right to play in the 3rd place game. Our B Team ran into an extremely tough Marian Central team and ended up earning 4th place overall on the day out of 10 teams. Our Freshman A Team started the day by beating Marian Central, then split with both Jefferson and North Boone, and finished pool play by beating Harvard. This was good enough to earn 1st place in their pool and meant that they got to play Wauconda for the championship of the tournament. It took three games, but our Bulldogs were best and the Grant A Team took first place for the tournament. The results of the day bring the A Team’s season record to 17-7-2. Great job ladies!
