Varsity Football vs. Glenbrook North.
The Giants celebrated homecoming with a 19-13 win, over Glenbrook North. The win put the Giants, in the drivers seat, for their second consecutive CSL North Championship and put them one win away from being playoff eligible.
On a sloppy field, an Glenbrook North struck first, on a 36 yard touchdown pass.
HP answered back with a Jordan Reisner 50 yard touchdown run. Matt Nieto's extra point tied it at 7. Glenbrook North took a 13-7 lead, on a 1 yard touchdown run. Cody Pantle tied the score, in the 2nd, with his own 1 yard touchdown run.
The Giants offense rode the back of Jordan Reisner, and the offensive line. Reisner scored on an 80 yard touchdown run, in the 3rd, giving the Giants the lead, for good.
Reisner rushed for 203 yards, on 21 carries.
Nick Fiore and Josh Katlin each added 23 yards, on the night. In all, the Giants rushed for 275 yards on a Spartain defense that only gave up 350 rushing yards, all year.
Cody Pantle took over for Walter Broder and managed the game. He was 3 for 6 and threw for 39 yards.
Brett Weiss had 2 receptions for 21 yyards.
Defensively, the Giants were led by Brett Weiss and Willie Goldberg. They had 7 tackles each. Weiss had two tackles for loss, while Goldberg had 1.
Josh Katlin and Josh Ruby had the other tackles for loss.
Cole Stern had the hit, of the night, when a GBN receiver cought a pass, over the middle and stern had a monster hit, jarrring the ball loose.
The Giants are 4-3, on the year and 3-0, in the CSL North. They face Deerfield, with the winner clinching a share of the conference title.
