Lions earn victory on Senior Night

Lisle played a complete game and earned a team victory Friday night over local rival Westmont. In doing so the Lions maintained control of the coveted Plank Trophy given annually to the victor of this grudge match. Junior RB Anthony Ventrella set the tone early scoring on a 25 yard scamper early in the first. This was the first of three scores on the night for the junior. Ventrella rushed for a game high 154 yards. Lisle led 20-0 at intermission. The Lion defensive line dominated the Sentinels up front, harassing the Westmont quarterback. Junior Semy Ransom led the charge with 2 sacks. Senior Ryan Liss intercepted a Westmont slant pass early in the fourth quarter and scored from 15 yards out to seal the victory. Lisle will conclude the season Friday at Sandwich (4-4). The Indians need a win to secure a playoff bid.
