Nazareth's Straub Wins ESCC Tennis Tournament
The ESCC Tennis Championship Tournament was held October 9-10. The Roadrunners battled through cold weather and rain in order to create much success at the end of the tournament. The team members who competed in the ESCC tournament were Natalie Bell, Molly Mara, Katy Hannigan, Katie Saladino, Olivia DeGeratto, Krista Mayer, Lindsey Fredian, and Alysa Straub. As the team's excitement built when the third doubles team of DeGeratto and Mayer upset the second seeded St. Viator team to place fourth in the tournament, the Nazareth Roadrunners knew that their number one singles player, Alysa Straub, would take on Benet in the ESCC championship round. We are proud to announce that Alysa Straub defeated Benet 6-2, 7-5 to earn the gold medal in the ESCC!
