Starting with the beginning of the 2012-13 school year, students will be required to be passing in 25 credit hours (5 classes) of high school work (in lieu of the current 20 credit hours (4 classes)) in order to be eligible to participate in extra-curricular sports/activities which are governed by the IHSA, which includes Scholastic Bowl members, Speech Team members, Mathletes and Chess Team members, as well as all sports.
Furthermore, this requirement of 25 credit hours (5 classes) will also be applied to the semester 2 requirements for eligibility to participate in the 2012-13 Semester 1 sports programs. In other words, a student-athlete must pass 25 credit hours (5 classes) by the completion of the 2011-12 Semester 2 in order to be eligible to participate in Fall/Winter Sports.
Should you have any questions, please contact the athletic office.
