Volleyball Rounding Into Form
Entering into the toughest national tournament in Illinois, the Lady Eagles wanted to get in and get out at Lincoln Way Central Thursday night, and play at a high level. The team did exactly that, fighting through a boisterous crowd and a fiesty home team, to win 25-19 in the first game. The second game saw the Eagles firing on all cylinders as they got out to a 5-0 lead followed by, 10-4, and 20-12. Lanie Muys had 11 kills playing both outside hitter and middle hitter. MaryKate Imrie (23 assists) matched Kara Kentner, Amanda Kijewski, and Val Cutrone with three kills. Jenny Buczek had five kills. The team heads into the Asics Challenge Friday and Saturday. Palos courts will host the Eagles Friday night at 6pm and 8pm. The team is now 18-2 and closing in on last years win total of 22.
