Boys Soccer Posts SWSC Win
The Eagles beat the Lockport Porters 4-1 today. A solid defensive effort by Captain Sean Healey (keeper), Kevin Tolley, Taylor Zalewski, Eric Maier, Kyle Mrozek and George Vinihakis limited the opportunities for the Porters to score. Miguel Alcordo also had his first opportunity this season in goal after he substituted for Healey with about 15 minutes left in the game.
The Eagles generated numerous opportunities to score today. Pat Passafiume assisted on a goal to Eric Maier in the first half. Shortly after the first goal, Jeff Grider hit a half volley about 20 yards out on a rope to score the second goal. Adam Gold scored the third goal on a breakaway carrying the ball about half the length of the field, and beating two Lockport defenders in the process. In the second half, It was Passafiume who scored a goal from a cross from Adam Gold. This game is the first S.W.S.C. Blue conference win for Sandburg.
