Volleyball Reaches 30 wins
For the fourth time in five years, the Sandburg Eagles volleyball team reached the 30 win milestone. A first round win over a hard working Thornwood gets the team off and running in the playoffs. Juniors dominated the match with Genna Pavone (8 assists and game winning kill), Kendra Mikuta (4 kills), Jenny Buczek (4 kills), and Val Cutrone (4 kills) leading the way. Chloe Smith chipped in 3 kills along with 2 blocks. The Eagles will face Marian Catholic at 1pm on Saturday at Lincoln Way North, after the Spartans defeated the host Phoenix in the early match.
Sandburg will be going for their sixth regional championship in a row.
