SOUTH INTER-CONFERENCE ASSOCIATION ATHLETIC DIRECTORS
BOARD OF CONTROL
GREEN GARDEN COUNTRY CLUB APRIL 17, 2002 Thanks to Sandburg
High School for providing breakfast. Meeting called to
order 9:00 a.m. Approval
of extra official for conference wrestling tournament based on the number of
mats plus one, motioned by D. Michels, seconded by L. Motta, passed 11-0. Approved increase to $200.00 for
wrestling conference entry fee, motioned by D. Michels, seconded by L. Motta,
passed 11-0. Discussion occurred on track &
field entry fees. Approved a fee of
$70.00 for each worker that a school could not provide, motioned by T. Sidote,
seconded by D. Schley, passed 11-0.
This should be determined by April 1st. Winter assignment chairman meeting
dates: Tom
O’Neill – will meet with him next week to discuss his responsibilities. Contracts for fall assignments
will be taken care of by Tom Sidote – one year contract. Rich South girls’ golf club status
came in after the deadline of March 1st. Motion by T. Sidote, seconded by D. Michels to allow Rich South
application for club status. Approved
11-0. Board of Control rotation to
remain the same as we have been doing it by conference. Next year’s board will have 10 members, two
from each conference. SICA Board of Control recommends
that all SICA schools have approved helmets for pole vault in 2002-2003. Discussion ensued on pole vault safety. Will be brought up at the May meeting. T. Sidote motioned, L. Motta seconded,
approved 11-0. Board of Control recommends a hard
copy of updated SICA Manual for the August meeting. Mike Ryan from Shepard H.S. will
be the secretary for SICA for 2002-2003. Oak Forest must follow the new
schedule in girls’ golf for 2002-2003.
Lisa Ferry will call Scott Loess from Oak Forest. Dennis Schley indicated that there
will be four new rules’ modifications for summer participation. Larry Bernard brought up a format
checklist for when official requests are due.
