"Broncos Open Outdoor Season at Luther North" |

|
The boys track team battled the wind and cold temperatures to win the 6 school meet at Luther North on Tuesday. Roderick Sanders led the way winning 4 events: shot put (37' 9.5"), discus (96' 3"), 200 (25.96) and led off the winning 4x200 Relay (1:38.28).
Highlights from the meet included having three jumpers over 20' in the long jump with Glynn Chatmon (21' 2.5"), Jeff Walker (20'11"), and Najee Toomer (20'5"), and the 4x100 relay winning in a time of 45.25 FAT. Another highlight came in the 800 M run where despite the strong wind both Robert Smith and Kyle Duff finished under 2:10. Finally, Jeff Walker went 40'10.5" in the TJ despite battling an ankle injury.

"Chatmon Leads Broncos at Proviso" |

Glynn Chatmon led the boys track team to a 14th place finish out of 21 schools at the 2012 Pirate Indoor Classic that featured many top large school programs by winning both the long jump and high jump events. His long jump of 21' 7" was a PR and is only 1" shy of the 2A State qualifying mark and 2.25" short of the school record. The biggest surprise of the meet though came in the high jump where Chatmon was competing in the event for the first time in his career. He struggled early but then went on to clear 6'2" to win the event.
Najee Toomer scored the team's other points finishing 7th in both the 55 M Dash (6.79) and long jump (19' 9"). Other notable performances included Kyle Duff in the 1600 (4:53) and the 4x200 relay (1:37.48)
